Bacon, Good...

We got together with some friends last night and I was in charge of bringing an appetizer. I've been dying to try these out since eating them at an Elder's Quorum BBQ. Bacon just makes all things taste good...and these Jalapeno Poppers are no different. Even better they are really easy to make (that's my motto "Easy and Yummy" - if I can help it...granted some things are worth the extra effort - but that's another story!) Hope you get a chance to try them, you'll thank me, your friends will thank me, your hips will thank me...

Valentine's Day!

Ignore the dates on these pictures, the camera date thingy is messed up, and I have no idea how to tell it not to put the date on my pictures! I'll have to figure that one out later. Anyway, VALENTINE'S DAY. My girls love the candy and love and candy...

Liberty is too young to get anything out of V Day but she takes an awfully cute picture.

Autumn my 3rd grader is a veteran when it comes to making her V Day Envelopes and had a great time applying her sense of humor to all the little hearts she decorated it with.

Bizzie went to her first V Day party at her preschool. She was so excited to pick out her princess valentines for her friends and candy boxes for her teachers, and patiently wrote out her name 20 times (in 45 minutes). She came home from her party BLOWN AWAY - she had got Valentines too! And then she excitedly asked, "So when do we go trick-or-treating tonight?!" I guess the holidays would seen a lot alike to a 4 year old. Candy for Valentines Day, Candy for Easter, Candy for Halloween...

Birds

I've wanted to do a craft day once a month with the girls - a substantial, more than crayons craft - but I couldn't seem to get myself in gear to get it done. An then one day brilliance hit - I have a good friend who majored in science and is smart, smart, smart in all things microscopic. We could exchange kids for an Art Day at my house and a Science Day at hers once a month!!! And sweet friend that she is, she agreed to it! Pretty sad that I couldn't get it done for just my kids but I can with the pressure of providing artsy fun for other children...but if I had been a supermom I would never have had my children expanding their horizons in science under the brilliant tutelage of my friend, so "GO MEDIOCRE ME!!!!"

Painting our birds (love this site)...

This all took maybe 10 minutes of painting, 30 minutes of playing waiting for the paint to dry and 5 more minutes of details...but they love getting together...

The finished project! Pull the string and they flap their wings! I learned a lot from my first Art Day hopefully the next one will be more substantial than 15 minutes...

Playing in the Sand in the Winter...

Don and I haven't been to the the Little Sahara since we were first married! Now here we are 10ish years later with our three girls...time flies! Check Spelling

One of the things I love about Don is his stickler attitude about how he looks...always proper, always sharp looking, nothing unconventional or silly...
Bundled in a kangaroo pouch next to my body, two layers of clothes and socks on her hands Liberty was practically climbing out of my coat to get away from the heat!

Bizzie and Autumn playing with their dragons in the snow...

The sunset was GORGEOUS on those sand dunes!!! Don and Autumn quickly made a tribute to the family and then took a picture with the lighting from the sunset to memorialize our trip.
