Bring the New Year In, In Style!

They LOVE these hats...pom poms on top, pom poms on the ends...when did I become so proper that I stopped putting purple pom pom hats on my head?

It took me HOURS to put this saucer together for Liberty, and it was in style and all the rage for the time it took to take this picture...she prefers her bouncy swing and all its mobility and danger. Like her daddy, why try something new when the old works so well!?

We like to CELEBRATE our hearts out on New Years Eve...at 9pm; it's massive confusion for the surrounding neighbors when foghorns, fireworks and poppers go off to the shouts of "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!"

Ahh Don, you trend setter you!

Another Tradition...

Since We moved back to Utah we have never missed a Christmas Eve With Grandma and Grandpa Olsen at the Spanish Fork Cemetary. We join hundreds of others who search for loved ones and light candles to remember them on this special night. And my favorite part, we sing "Silent Night" and "Come, Come Ye Saints." Both of these songs are most truly appreciated when sung under the stars on a cold night...

Bizzie, Frosty the Liberty, and Autumn warming up again in the car...

The evening ends with a hearty meal, a Fisher Price Nativity Set reenactment of The Nativity, the exchanging of homemade gifts for each other, and threats that Santa won't come unless they are REALLY asleep!

New Traditions

When Autumn was six years old Grandma Martha took her cousin, her, and their moms to the see the Nutcracker in Seattle. It was the ultimate, girly R & R. Don and I wanted to continue this with our girls. So here is our first annual Olsen Girl Nutcracker Extravaganza...

First we went to the Garden Restaurant. Autumn was the perfect lady...
Quite easily Autumn's favorite part of the whole evening was riding in the carriage to the theatre with "Bob" the horse...

Waiting for the show to start - Don surprised us with the BEST seats - three rows back from front center!!!

When the show was over and Autumn said her goodbyes to "Bob" who took us back to Temple Square where budding photographer Autumn took a gazillion pictures...

It was Coooold....Autumn in front of the Salt Lake Temple.
It was a magical night and I look forward to many more years of this one-on-one time with my girls. Bizzie and Liberty will join us when they turn six too!!!

Getting Better

I am accomplishing a long time goal setting up and maintaining this blog. It is going to take me awhile to get it up and going. But we are here and on our way!
